Who this consultation is for
This is the flagship session for a person qualified outside Germany who wants to work in their profession but does not yet know whether recognition is compulsory, useful or unnecessary. It is especially helpful before paying for translations or submitting an application to an authority.
What we cover
We compare your intended role with the relevant German reference occupation, distinguish regulated from non-regulated work, and identify the authority responsible for the profession and federal state. We discuss your diploma, transcript, subject list, employment certificates and any existing correspondence. You leave with written notes covering the likely route, document gaps, cost categories and questions that still require an authority’s binding answer.
Before the session
Send readable copies of the qualification and transcript, your CV, the city or federal state where you plan to work, and any official letter already received. Uncertified scans are sufficient for this review. Please redact passport numbers and unrelated personal details.
Boundaries and timing
The session lasts 60 minutes online or at our Berlin office. It is independent practical guidance, not legal representation, immigration advice, a certified translation or a guarantee of equivalence. Only the competent authority can issue a formal recognition decision. If the file spans several professions or decisions, we will recommend a separate document review rather than rushing the assessment.
Afterward
Within two working days, you receive a concise route note with the authority, document priorities and next actions discussed. The natural next step may be an application, a translation brief, a counselling referral, or an employer conversation—not automatically another paid session.
